9.  WILLIAM(3) GADDIS (JOHN2, WILLIAM1) was born February 15, 1774, in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, and died July 23, 1844 in Clinton County, Ohio.  He married ELIZABETH PEAIRS 1800 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania.

Notes about William and Elizabeth GADDIS:
Both are buried in Jonah's Run Cemetery in Harveysburg, Clinton County, Ohio.  Below are photographs of the headstones taken in June 2001.  William's is on the left; Elizabeth's on the right.

20. RICE(3) GADDIS (THOMAS2, WILLIAM1) was born August 26, 1789 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, and died February 11, 1853 in Union Township, Clinton County, Ohio.  He married SARAH ANN ANDREWS April 02, 1840 in Clinton County, Ohio.

Notes for Rice GADDIS: According to information received from Scott BAKER, Rice was a private in the Fayette County, Pennsylvania Volunteers under Captain Thomas COLLINS.  He enlisted at Uniontown, Pennsylvania on August 27, 1812.  He was discharged on September 18, 1813.  So, he served during the War of 1812.  In 1815, Rie became the founder and editor of the "True American" newspaper in Wilmington, Ohio.  He is buried in Gaddis Cemetery.

24. ABNER(3) GADDIS (HENRY2, WILLIAM1) was born June 21, 1787 in Menallen Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, and died July 20, 1854 in East Union Township, Wayne County, Ohio.  He married MARTHA BYAL October 01, 1816 in Canton, Stark County, Ohio, daughter of WILLIAM BYAL and ANNA STAFFORD.

Note for Abner GADDIS:
According to the information supplied by Scott BAKER, Abner was a Private in the Fayette County, Pennsylvania Volunteers under Captian Thomas COLLINS.  He enlisted at Uniontown, Pennsylvania on August 27, 1812 and was discharged at Fort Oswego, New York on August 26, 1813.  He was, therefore, a soldier in the War of 1812.  Both Abner and his wife, Martha, are buried in Old Presbyterian Cemetery.  The information about the children of Abner GADDIS and Martha BYAL was supplied by Joseph McNEMAR.
