Bertha I. Rucker

Bertha Isabel RUCKER was born on February 26, 1889, in Winters, California, and died on February 17, 1980, in Tucson, Arizona. She married Thomas M. JACQUES on January 15, 1908, in Jerome, Arizona. She is Ruth's mother and Ruth is her only child. After Thomas' death, Bertha married Charles HUGHES in 1916. Bertha was a first generation American, as both of her parents were born in Prussia (Germany), and she was a long time resident of Jerome seeing it grow from a mining boomtown at the turn of the century to a ghost town by the 1960's.
