Weinlese Glaz von Zinfandel, CD
August 24, 1990 — October 15, 2001
Below is a short article my son, then 10 years old, wrote for his school's newspaper. It is a tribute to his best friend....

The animal I love most is my dog, Zinfandel. I called her Zin or Zinnie most of the time. She was a rottweiler. Some people think that rottweilers are mean dogs, but Zin wasn't mean at all. She was the best dog in the world.
When I was born, Zin was already two years old. By the time I was two years old, Mom and Dad would let me play with Zin. We played in the backyard together. Our most favorite game was playing police. I would be the bad guy and she was the police. She would chase me around the yard. When I put my arms up on the wall and gave up she would jump on my back.
I liked to share my treats with Zin. When I was real little, I would even let Zin lick my ice cream bars. We also liked to go camping together. My favorite trip was when we went to the Black River.
When Zin got older the vet told us she had cancer. We were very sad but she lived for 10 more months. We went camping one more time at Catalina State Park. The day after we got back, Mom and Dad had to take her to the vet. She was put to sleep and I cried a lot. She was 11 years old.
I believe she is at the Rainbow Bridge waiting for me with other pets that have died and are waiting for their special people. Zinfandel was a special dog and I miss her very much.
"Rest in Peace, sweet clown, until we meet again."
