The Ristra & Pot
Pottery jars can be used to store everything from water and wine to grain and spices. Prehistoric pottery has been found containing corn, nuts, and even chiles. Before being ground and placed in jars, chiles would need to be hung and dried. The drying bundle of chiles, known as a ristra, has become a familiar sight in the Southwest and is frequently used as a wall or door decoration.
