The Quail & Cactus
A quail poised atop a prickly pear cactus is a familiar sight to every desert dweller. Known for its unique call and black plumed crown, the Gambel's Quail, painted on this roof tile, is found throughout the deserts of the southwest from southern California to the Rio Grande of Texas, as far north as the deserts of Colorado and Utah, and as far south as the northern states of Mexico.
