The Hummingbird
There are 320 species of hummingbirds and all are found only in the New World. Some 15 different species breed in North America and these dynamic little birds are one of the many attractions of the desert southwest. A male Allen's Hummingbird is represented on this paver and is distinguished from the similar Rufus Hummingbird by its green back and crown.
