The Kokopelli
The humpbacked flute player, Kokopelli, has become one of the most recognized Native American symbols in the Southwest. He is known as a seducer of girls, bringer of babies, tutelary of hunting, and one of the many dancers in the Mixed Kachina Dance and Night Dance of the Hopi culture. Here a pair of flute players dance across this terra cotta paving stone.
